Once a year the UK Government requires all vehicles to be tested for their road worthiness, this test is run by the Ministry of Transport and is known as an MOT test. Taking your vehicle for its annual MOT test, which is a legal requirement in the UK, to the same garage or mechanic that services your vehicle, is good vehicle sense.

If you don't want to spend a lot of money once a year having major faults addressed in your vehicle, then you should get it serviced on a regular basis. Use the same garage or mechanic for your MOT as you do for your services and it should sail through the test for a good number of years to come.
