What Would It Cost Me To Get Liposuction?

Lots of people are curious about the price of liposuction (which is also referred to as lipoplasty and suction lipectomy). Some have heard that it's so expensive that only movie stars and other celebrities can afford it. Others have seen ads claiming that anyone can afford it.

The truth lies somewhere in the middle. Although the procedure sports a somewhat hefty price tag, it is among the cheaper cosmetic surgeries available.

The surgery, which uses suction to remove excess fat from specific target areas on a patients body, has a widely variable cost. A number of factors including the experience and training of the surgeon, the geographical area and even the patient's gender can affect the overall cost.

However, one of the largest and most important factors in how much a lipoplasty costs is actually where on the body the surgery is performed. Certain parts of the body are more difficult to treat and thus more expensive. Some areas of the body are more expensive because they are harder to reach. Some are more expensive because they tend to have tougher, more fibrous fat. Some are more expensive simply because they are more difficult to sculpt into appealing forms.

Some the of the cheapest areas for liposuction are the arms, buttocks, female back, hips and outer thighs. These areas could cost around $1500 to $5000 to treat. Most of these areas are relatively easy to reach and to treat, and they don't involve very small or delicate areas.

A couple of slightly more expensive areas could be the interior and anterior thighs. Each of these areas (the inside and the front of the thighs) count as different areas and are typically charged separately. These areas have a base price of somewhere around $2000 and can reach to $5000 or more.

The area of the breast is more expensive in both genders. The chest area sometimes has tough, fibrous fat that is difficult to remove. Also, there is glandular tissue that must be worked around. In both genders, the lower end of possible prices begins somewhere around $3000. The upper end of possible prices can extend to over $7000, depending on the specifics of the surgery.

Although a lot of people try to find the best deal possible on their lipoplasty, sometimes going with the cheapest surgeon available isn't a good idea. Sometimes excessively low prices could mean that a surgeon doesn't have the experience or skill to get higher paying customers. Although it's okay to look to get the most out of your money, make sure that you aren't sacrificing your body to do so.
